CONDITIONS A-Z
Fatigue
Fatigue is an extremely common symptom associated with numerous health conditions.
Often fatigue is not a stand alone symptom and can be a sign of an underlying
condition unaware of by the patient.
What is fatigue?
Fatigue is a symptom that causes a severe lack of energy and motivation, sometimes leading to depression and anxiety. The causes can be anything from stress, insomnia, depression, nutritional depletion, lack of exercise and yes it can even be from over exercise. Fatigue can also be due to medication side effects directly or indirectly. It can be due to underlying medical disorders such as hormonal imbalance, thyroid disease, diabetes, cardiac disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, anemia, restless leg syndrome, and sleep apnea to name a few. Only through a careful history and physical can the diagnosis be made. Once the diagnosis is determined, treatment will be tailored to your specific needs and you can begin to get back to feeling like yourself, living a full, productive life once again.
Fortunately, fatigue is highly treatable, especially when working with an integrative specialist who understands there are often underlying causes that can be changed. At the Garden City Center for Integrative Health we approach fatigue with an understanding that the underlying cause may relate to vitamin deficiencies, hormone imbalances, endocrine disorders or other conditions. With a multi-faceted approach to fatigue treatment including IV therapy, nutritional supplements, lifestyle changes and many other individualized treatments, patients can often see major improvement in their fatigue
